Your adventure begins with cruising Rockingham’s sheltered bays and islands in search of any of the 200 local dolphins that your crew have come to know as friends. Before long the skipper spots the first group of the day and an excited buzz takes over the boat as the crew ensures you’re fully prepared to enter the water. ‘Zip your wetsuits up, masks and snorkels on and make your way to the swim deck- it’s time to get wet!’ Sleek, silvery grey dorsal fins start breaking the surface of the water within metres of the back of the boat and the skipper gives the command everyone’s been waiting for- ‘Go!’ Suddenly, you are surrounded by flashing grey torpedoes and the water is filled with whistles, splashes and laughter - both human and dolphin. They don’t do tricks and you don’t feed them, you simply spend some time enjoying each other’s company....it’s a wild encounter!
The crew are dedicated to ensuring the best experience for both visitors and dolphins. Please remember that these are with wild animals and to approach each encounter with patience and respect - never assume that the crew have control over the dolphins’ appearance or behaviours. The dolphins approval of the crew's friendship is reflected in the better than 99% success rate. A light lunch is included as well as some light refreshments. However guests are welcome to bring their own snacks as well.
Participant guidelines:
Age Restriction: 6 years and above. Must have basic swimming skills and able to tred water with the use of any floatation devices.
Numbers on day:
Up to 42 passengers.
What to bring/Dress code:
Please wear your bathers under your clothes, bring a jacket or sweater, sunscreen and camera, snacks. You don’t have to be an expert swimmer to join in and no previous snorkeling experience is necessary. Just bring a sense of adventure and be ready for an unforgettable, exhilarating encounter!
